Role of Media in Our Life and Today's World!

Media in simple words is the medium through which communication is done to the masses of people for sharing information on what is happening around the world. There is another term called "Mass Media" which means the media technologies that is used to reach the masses of people (large number of people) for giving info about political news, lifestyle, entertainment, social activities, news events etc. We can't imagine our life without being interacted to media now. It's everywhere and is the source through which we get to know about what is happening around our society and the world. It all started when Newspapers started getting published to make people aware about the things happening around. It is also the cheapest source of media and has been there since the 17th century. Even the most remote areas with poor living conditions have access to newspapers so that they can know about what is happening around the world and to keep in touch with various news.



Now it's 21st century and almost 2020. There are so many sources of media now which we can access to get information. 20th century was the time of Newspapers, Radio, Magazines, and then the Television (TV) came into existence and it changed everything. It became popular quickly and people started moving to it for entertainment purposes and to get news. Media plays a very important role in our life and we should keep up with what's going around us. Now it's the generation of Internet and it's Digital Media which is now changing everything like the TV did. Social Media is something that spread up so quickly around the world that so many people can't even imagine their life without it now. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Youtube etc. are all part of social media. Now we get information and news about what is happening instantly. Everything is done live now and on the spot. So many people have got huge success because of the Digital Media like Youtube Stars, Social Media Influencers, many artists especially music artists got popular through it. It's not like that TV and Newspaper is no longer popular now. It still is very popular and in India only there's stats that about 39% of the Indians read newspaper to get information about the world and there are over 100,000 registered newspapers in India only. People still listen to Radio in many areas and TV is till used in almost every household for basic entertainment and news. It's just millennial generation who loves Digital Media.

Media keeps you updated with everything. Media is the mirror of our modern society. Media has also been very much helpful for creating awareness among large number of people and thus have created great moments around the world. Right now it's Save the Planet by doing Climate Strikes.

Advertising is also a part of Media and it's obviously everywhere, brands are constantly fighting and in the competition to show that their products and services are the best.

So yeah, Media is everywhere and is a huge part of our life.
