Departments of the Newspaper (Print Journalism)

Basically there are 6 departments of the Newspaper which helps in editing, circulating, marketing etc. so that the newspapers can properly reach to the masses.
They are:



1. Editorial Department
- Helps in gathering news from various sources
- Research about those news and properly editing them
- Is pretty much responsible for everything that we see in the newspaper other than advertising
- Makes sure that the news is reader-friendly and accurate

2. Circulation Department
- Makes sure that the newspaper is properly circulated to the different regions and areas.
- Keeps record of the subscribers, handle renewals of the newspaper and notifying them for renewals
- They basically take care of everything when the newspaper is printed and is ready to deliver

3. Marketing/Advertising Department
- Responsible for the marketing of the newspaper to the public and increase the reach of the newspaper
- Provide advertisements in the newspaper by various companies and advertisers who want to show ads of their products and services.

4. Printing Department
- Responsible for overall procedure for printing of the newspaper and making sure that everything is printed properly and in time

5. HR Department (Human Resource)
- Responsible for hiring, promoting, demoting and firing staffs for various departments of the newspaper and handle everything regarding the staffs.

6. IT Department 
- Responsible for maintaining and supporting the newspaper's organisation Information Technology infrastructure like all the computers, laptops, servers, Wi-Fi etc used there. They maintain all the technical equipment and provide maintenance with engineers/technicians.
